The first permanent exhibition space for the HMA MPDC, the Rózsi Walter Villa designed by József Fischer, has been completed.
Following introductory words from György Vashegyi, the president of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, Gergely Gulyás, the minister in charge of the Office of the Prime Minister, welcomed those gathered at the ceremonial opening of the villa. The director of our institution received the keys to the rehabilitated Modernist house from the president of the HAA, then after his greetings there was an opportunity to tour the villa.
Budapest’s newest cultural site in the vicinity of the City Park will primarily host architectural exhibitions and programs. The Rózsi Walter Villa is special because it is the first Modernist villa in Budapest and in Hungary that will be able to be visited by the general public.
