Today, there is an expectation that every collection and archive will make its materials available in a digital form.
In accordance with this, the Digitalization Department is performing the digitalization of the Hungarian Museum of Architecture and Monument Protection Documentation Center’s collections based on a strategic plan and schedule. The digital inventory provides easier access for researchers as well as ensuring the conservation of the archival materials because it is not necessary to repeatedly handle the documents that have been digitized. The technical equipment and the expertise of our colleagues make it possible to create professional reproductions that satisfy every demand.
It is the duty of the Digitalization Department to participate in the systematic photographic documentation of historic properties in Hungary.
Our colleagues perform applied photographic work on architecture, works of art and archaeological features.
The present conditions of definitive buildings of the built heritage are also documented for posterity.
On the one hand, the photographs of the Digitalization Department appear in the Hungarian Museum of Architecture and Monument Protection Documentation Center’s own exhibitions and publications, and on the other hand, these photographs expand the collection of the Photographic Archives. In connection with this, our colleagues strive to present the significant historic rehabilitation projects of the last decade.
